Assistant Maintenance Manager
Lead the Maintenance Department as Second in Charge
Purpose of Position
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position is concerned with the organizing and daily running of the Maintenance Department. Ensuring that standards and costs are always maintained. Responsible and accountable for the property’s asset management, general up-keep, maintenance of hotel buildings, grounds and all facilities including carpentry and joinery requirements.
Tasks include:
- Deputise the department in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
- Team Management & Leadership
- Project work management
- Management of payroll costs and departmental rosters and allocation of work
- Implement effective communication systems across the department & hotel
- Drive the hotel's customer service focus culture with the team and external suppliers/contractors
- Work closely with all head of departments to deliver the hotel's overall Long Term Maintenance Plan and Objectives
- Work closely with the Body Corporate Management Team
- Drive and engage in the company's Health, Safety and Wellness programmes
Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Minimum 3/4 years previous hotel Maintenance supervisory/management experience
- Electrical Registration - Highly desirable or working towards registration
- Full clean driver's license essential
- Trade/Engineering qualification an advantage
- HVAC experience
- Experience with powered and non-powered cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of appropriate and safe chemical handling highly regarded
- Ability to multi-task in a busy hotel with a positive can-do-attitude
- Be able to work autonomously with excellent time management skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Must be physically fit with a high standard of personal presentation
- Available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings until 7:00pm, weekends and public holidays
