Sous Chef – Culinary'Hi, I'm Michael Roldan, born and raised in the Philippines. I love playing the guitar in addition to being a professional chef.
Growing up in the Philippines to a family who loves to get together and bond over food, it sparked my interest in cooking at an early age. My first journey as a professional chef outside my home country was in UAE back in 2009. In my 14 years of being a chef, I've learned a lot and am continuously learning in this industry.
I am grateful to have met multi-cultural colleagues who have taught me to be better in my career. This year, my profession took me to New Zealand for an opportunity to work at The Rees Hotel for the past couple of two months now as Sous Chef. I can't wait to discover and meet new people in the industry whom I can share the same passion with. Here's one of my favourite recipes to make at home'. March 2023.
